In either case, if you locate the old data directory, you can restore it (after reinstalling Zotero) by following ![]() ![]() Otherwise, you can likely find your old Zotero data directory by searching your computer for a "zotero.sqlite" file. If you see such a folder, your Zotero data is probably in there. If you don't need this folder any longer, you should delete it as it contains sensitive information. See Copying files between profile folders for instructions. Note: After the reset is finished, your old Firefox profile information will be placed on your desktop in a folder named "Old Firefox Data." If the reset didn't fix your problem you can restore some of the information not saved by copying files to the new profile that was created. Check Zotero's database integrity in the advance tab of the Zotero preferences. You should update Zotero to 2.1.8 just to be sure. Virus does sound unlikely with up-to-date Norton (though I do hope you're not surfing the web on an administrator account). You could also try switching to see if Zotero works there. To make sure I understood your first post correctly, though: You de-installed Zotero, re-started Firefox and it still showed up in the add-ons, right?
